Crazy Cat Lady Starter Kit:
I can distinctly remember one of my friends telling me as I was looking for places to live in NYC and NJ, "Laura, don't move to Hoboken. You'll end up living alone with four cats and no friends..."
Through time, Brian and I have lost touch. He doesn't know that I'm now in Jersey City's Powerhouse Arts District with 5 cats, and a friendship base that grows and deepens with every passing year.
Clearly, his definition of being lonely included having multiple cats. I couldn't disagree more.
The friendships forged through my love of felines is special, and through this blog expanding in ways I couldn't have imagined if I had chosen to sit quietly watching My Cat From Hell. I am also friends with people who are allergic to cats, consider themselves a "dog person not a cat person," and those who are neutral on the topic.
Thanks to Tamar from I Have Cat, I was one of 5 not-so-crazy cat ladies featured in an a blog post in January. If you didn't see it, click here to read. We are changing the definition and the image of women who love cats, and join legions of men and women who put their energy to good use rescuing and saving lives.
When I think Crazy, I rather prefer hearing Seal sing to me...
